Supervision Service
José approaches supervision from a three-tier process where the countertransference reactions experienced by the treating therapist are analyzed. This process considers the psychoanalytic process of the patient, the known and unknown effects of the process, and the emergent psycho-dynamics within the supervisory dyad uniquely relevant to the treatment of the patient.
The focus of the supervision is about what transpires in the consultation room. The work is about identifying the resistances interfering with the analytic process of the patient’s freedom to feel, think, say, and hear everything that needs recognition by the patient and with the reactions of the treating therapist to the patient, as they both work closely to bring about personal awareness, understanding of the transference and countertransference reactions, greater psychic integration, acceptance of reality, and of the actual treatment goal(s).
